White Paints
Interior Designers Love

In the world of interior design, every color, tone and finish selection are imperative to the creation of a cohesive living space. One of the most fundamental and important of these colors, is white. White can often to be perceived as a simple backdrop, serving as a canvas to elevate other elements within a home or, no the other spectrum, sterile and unwelcoming. While white walls are common, this color is also often utilized for baseboards, door moldings, and ceilings. This is a look at the white paints that we, as interior designers, view as versatile and timeless. We believe these have the ability to blend, enhance, and illuminate your home without leaving it feeling boring and lifeless.

We have heard it be said many times, “white is white right?” And if you, yourself, have ever tried to start looking for a white paint, you’ll quickly learn nothing is further from the truth. It seems like there is an endless sea of options and frankly it can become difficult to tell the difference between them. That’s why we are here! Below are the whites that you can find in all our residential interior design projects- tried and true!

Benjamin Moore's "White Dove" (0C-17)

White dove has a light reflective value of 85.38 out of 100 meaning it will enhance the brightness of a space without making it feel stark. Overall it’s a timeless adaptable shade that can pair with just about any color or material finish.

Benjamin Moore "Shoji White" (OC-28)

ith a bit more pigment soghi white works well in spaces where you want a neutral interior without the starkness of pure white, offering a touch of warmth and depth that can help make a space feel inviting and comfortable. The beige undertone of this color creates a refined elegant atmosphere without being too overpowering. It can be known as a “chameleon” color because it tens to take on the different characteristics of its surroundings. In natural light, it has a soft warmth, but in dimmer or artificial light, the grayish undertone can become more prominent giving it a cooler subdued feel. It is a popular color for bedrooms, living rooms and kitchens as it is a soft backdrop without drawing too much attention to itself.

Farrow and Ball “All White”

All white by Farrow and Ball is a clean, bright white that does not have any strong undertones of yellow, grey, or blue. Without any noticeable tint this give it a “true white” appearance that can adapt well in both contemporary and traditional interiors. It pairs well with many colors making it a favorite for those looking for a minimalist neutral pallet. It is commonly used in open concept homes where an understated aesthetic is desired or even as a base for showcasing artwork. Its versatility means that it can create a clean, cohesive look or serve as the perfect backdrop for bolder, contrasting tones.

It is important to keep in mind that color will appear. different in all environments and is very dependent on artificial lighting, time of day, and proximity to other colors within the room.
